You Are Not An Accident

I was reading Purpose-driven life and it really struck me. Let me share to you what God wants to tell you

You are not an Accident!

Your birth was no mistake or mishap, and your life is no fluke of nature. Your parents may not have planned you, but God did.

He was not at all surprised by your birth. In fact, he expected it. Long before you were conceived by your parents, you were conceived in the mind of God. He thought of you first. It is not fate, nor chance, nor luck, nor coincidence that you are breathing at this very moment. You are alive because God wanted to create you!

God prescribe every single detail of your body. He deliberately chose your race, the color of your skin, your hair, and every other feature. He custom-made your body just the way he wanted it. He also determined the natural talents you would posses and uniqueness of your personality.

  • “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me”
  • You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
  • You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breath. Everyday was recorded in your Book!
  • While there are illegitimate parents, there are no illegitimate children.
  • God never does anything accidentally, and he never makes mistake.
  • Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love.
  • The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what He does for us
  •  I have carried you since you were born; I have taken care of you from your birth. Even when you are old, I will be the same. Even when your hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you.
Isaiah 44:2
I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born

By Russell Kelfer

You are who you are for a reason.
You’re part of an intricate plan.
You’re a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God’s special woman or man.

You look like you look for a reason.
Our God make no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You’re just what He wanted to make.

The parents you had were the ones He chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind.
And they bear the Master’s seal.

No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurts you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into His likeness you’d grow.

You are who you are for a reason,
You’ve been formed by the Master’s rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is God!

YOU… Branding that Lasts

970086_528733503855799_657850338_n

I am blessed to attend this event organized by Saddleback Manila that talks about branding. Who and What is Saddleback? Here’s a little history of it.

When Rick and Kay Warren first arrived in the Saddleback Valley in December of 1979,

All they had was what they could fit in the back of a U-haul truck. Fresh out of seminary, the young pastor and his bride dreamed of planting a church that would be “a place where the hurting, the depressed, the confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness and encouragement.”

With many good Bible-teaching churches already in Southern California, Pastor Rick turned his attention to those who didn’t attend church regularly. Two weeks after Pastor Rick and Kay arrived in the Saddleback Valley, they began with a small Bible study, meeting with one other family in the Warrens’ small condo.

On Easter of 1980, Saddleback Valley Community Church held its very first public service and 205 people, most of who had never been to church, showed up. That began one of the most exciting journeys of growth that any church has experienced in American history. In more than two decades of ministry in South Orange County, God has continued to expand the church’s influence. Currently, Saddleback Church has more than 200 ministries serving the church and community. One in nine people in the area call Saddleback their church home.

God has also expanded the church’s ministry both nationally and internationally. Pastor Rick’s 1995 book The Purpose Driven Church put the principles that led to the church’s success in print, namely its focus on the five biblical purposes of the church: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism. Now, more than 200,000 church leaders from around the world have been trained in Saddleback’s purpose-driven philosophy. Pastor Rick’s latest book, The Purpose Driven Life, focuses on the truth that life is “not about you,” and shows how God can enable each of us to live for His purposes.

Samuel Respond!

In our ordinary life may be God is calling us to get out of our work place, comfort zone, our relationships, business and etc. but what will be our response to this?

I just love the attitude of Samuel we he responded to the call without hesitation and fear. “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening”.

Confused of Making the Right Decision?

when-youre-forced-to-make-the-right-decision

Sometimes I ask God why do people have to undergo hardship and trials? It may came to a point that you need to decide not only for yourself but for a team or a department or considering it would affect your family how will you do it?

Getting Started on the Road to Right Decision Making

So how do you get started working with God so you can begin making right decisions and showing good judgment?

1. Before make a decision surrender to Him first.

We as human being we view the right things to do when it is favorable to us or we will have a benefit on it. This is one of the famous line when it comes to decision making “what ever you do follow your heart”.
Our heart is wicked as it was describe.

Jeremiah 17:9
“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things,
 and desperately wicked.

What does God have to say to that? My question to you right now does it Glorify Him? Do you have peace in your heart? These are the questions you need to consider when making a decision. No Compromise and Justification you can not correct a mistake with another mistake.

Proverbs 16:1
We can make our own plans,
but the Lord gives the right answer.

2. Before make a decision Read & illuminate on God’s word.

The only way you’re going to get to know God and his character is to study His word. To be more Christ like meaning to build your relationship with Him. He is our creator and we are His creation. He left us a manual which is I believe in every problem we have, there will always be a solution. Read your manual (Bible) daily as advice.

Joshua 1:8 New International Version (NIV)

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day andnight, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Here  is the promise of God to us if we continuously read His word we will never get wrong. All the solution to our problem the bible is applicable

3. Before make a decision Pray & Wrestle with God. Talk to God

Our way of communicating to Him is by the means of praying. If we never speak to our spouse or never listen to anything our spouse might have to say to us, our marriage relationship will quickly deteriorate. It is the same way with God. Prayer is a communication with God that helps us grow closer and more intimately connected with God. You can always ask the Holy Spirit for Guidance and Wisdom in decision making. Talk to him don’t stop unless He give you the answer. God see’s the heart

Matthew 26:41 New International Version (NIV)
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Romans 8:26-27 New International Version (NIV)
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us
through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the
mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

4. Surround yourself with people who are further along in the journey.

This is I call my spiritual family. These are the people who can give biblical advice  not worldly advice to something that you are burdened with. These are the people that will encourage you to stand up and keep up the fight. We know if we are alone we are weak but if you have companion it is much easier to decide. Find a mentor that suits your personality and you can get along with.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 New International Version (NIV)
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of
three strands is not quickly broken.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Done watching Star Trek Into Darkness at Lucky China Mall. ws_Star_Trek_Into_Darkness_Poster_1920x1080

I love action movies but about space movie or what I call futuristic earth, nah its not my taste. But a friend of mine ask me to watch that movie and I said ok I will try it out.

After watching I felt glad. Its not that bad after all and I illuminate something and I want to share it to you guys. This scene has given me a great impact and a lot of insights and leadership principle to take home. If I had a pen and paper I would list it down. I believe in the saying Ink is better than Think. Our brain can think of a thousand ideas but you will also forget it in just a while. So better write it down before it flew away

1. We are called to do the right thing ( Mentoring Session)

Before becoming a good leader you will first undergo to following a Mentor. Everything he is teaching and instructing means a lot cause he knows what will be the consequence if you don’t follow him.

Being a leader we have the authority over people under us. We need to follow strictly the rules and regulation of your territory. You can command them because you are superior but be wise and be careful every decision you make will affect them. Always do the right thing and pleasing to God, He is the real Commander-in-Chief.

James 4:7 ESV
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will
flee from you.

Good_bye

2. When someone says goodbye you give importance to what He is trying to say.

This was always a reminder to us because by human nature we are “Pasaway”. We don’t listen to what the mentors are trying to tell us but you came to realize it when its too late. Why wait for someone to say goodbye for you to learn. I’m telling you it wasn’t easy. Follow Now and Regret Never!

One of the famous last line of Jesus when He is on the cross that hits me a lot is the phrase “It is finished.” (John 19:30) Every time I do things that is not glorifying Him I feel condemn but I always go back to the cross because again
It is finished.

3. Sacrifice yourself for your people not people for yourself.

True leadership is being a servanthood. Serve them the way it should be and they will do it in return. Mold & push them to lead. Trust them like your family and try to develop their full potentials and trust them that they can do it. Encourage and Empower them.

One issue in leadership is to know how your people submit their selves under your authority. Check yourself and reflect how your leadership works.

John 15:13 ESV
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Sir Abraham Lincoln has something to say about it…

But for the insights is cheap. Everyday is a Learning process. Everybody needs an improvement.

Am I Qualified to be a Disciple?

discipleship-c

There are time in my life that I stay in bed, walking alone the street, and just doing nothing I kind a question God “Do I qualify to be one of your Disciple?” I’m just an ordinary person with just an ordinary life. I’m not a teacher in profession and did not study theology subject back when I’m still at school.

You Qualify If you are an Ordinary Person

An ordinary person like you can change the world not because you are intelligent or good but God is good and full of wisdom. You don’t have to perform anything just let God use you mightily in His presence and ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and Protection. A living vessel that God can use to minister to people.

1 Corinthians 1:27-28 New Living Translation (NLT)
Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to
shame those who think they are wise. And he choose things that are
powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to
bring to nothing what the world considers important.

God sometimes use foolish people to change the world. Like the 12 Apostles here are some of them like Peter, Andrew, James, John are Fishermen and Matthew is a Tax Collector, Simon is a Political Activist.

You Qualify If You Obey His Command even if it is Uncomfortable.

Sometimes it is easy to follow God’s instruction when it is favorable to ourselves or we can benefit from it but what if it would take your salary, or would take too much of your time or it would take your life would you consider doing it anyways?

Best example of being obedient is Jesus when he is going to wash the feet of His disciples, Imagine the Kings of Kings and the Lords or Lord would humble himself to wash the feet of an ordinary people. Do you think its is comfortable to Jesus?

John 13:6-8 NLT
When Jesus came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, “Lord, are you
going to wash my feet?”
Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”
“No,” Peter protested, “you will never ever wash my feet!”
Jesus replied, “Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.”

You Qualify if you Believe that God’s Standard is far more better than the World’s Standard

Base on Worldly view yes you are not qualified to be a Minister or Disciple because of the sin you have done before up until now but God’s grace is sufficient and all you have to do is to accept Him as your personal Lord and savior. It is God who Qualifies you not because you are nice or good or among other person you are far better than him/her,but it is by the grace of God that you are qualified.

John 15:16 New Living Translation (NLT)
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
