Sometimes I ask God why do people have to undergo hardship and trials? It may came to a point that you need to decide not only for yourself but for a team or a department or considering it would affect your family how will you do it?
Getting Started on the Road to Right Decision Making
So how do you get started working with God so you can begin making right decisions and showing good judgment?
1. Before make a decision surrender to Him first.
We as human being we view the right things to do when it is favorable to us or we will have a benefit on it. This is one of the famous line when it comes to decision making “what ever you do follow your heart”.
Our heart is wicked as it was describe.
Jeremiah 17:9 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked.
What does God have to say to that? My question to you right now does it Glorify Him? Do you have peace in your heart? These are the questions you need to consider when making a decision. No Compromise and Justification you can not correct a mistake with another mistake.
Proverbs 16:1 We can make our own plans, but the Lord gives the right answer.
2. Before make a decision Read & illuminate on God’s word.
The only way you’re going to get to know God and his character is to study His word. To be more Christ like meaning to build your relationship with Him. He is our creator and we are His creation. He left us a manual which is I believe in every problem we have, there will always be a solution. Read your manual (Bible) daily as advice.
Joshua 1:8 New International Version (NIV) Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day andnight, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Here is the promise of God to us if we continuously read His word we will never get wrong. All the solution to our problem the bible is applicable
3. Before make a decision Pray & Wrestle with God. Talk to God
Our way of communicating to Him is by the means of praying. If we never speak to our spouse or never listen to anything our spouse might have to say to us, our marriage relationship will quickly deteriorate. It is the same way with God. Prayer is a communication with God that helps us grow closer and more intimately connected with God. You can always ask the Holy Spirit for Guidance and Wisdom in decision making. Talk to him don’t stop unless He give you the answer. God see’s the heart
Matthew 26:41 New International Version (NIV) “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Romans 8:26-27 New International Version (NIV) In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
4. Surround yourself with people who are further along in the journey.
This is I call my spiritual family. These are the people who can give biblical advice not worldly advice to something that you are burdened with. These are the people that will encourage you to stand up and keep up the fight. We know if we are alone we are weak but if you have companion it is much easier to decide. Find a mentor that suits your personality and you can get along with.
Ecclesiastes 4:12 New International Version (NIV) Though one may be overpowered,two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
