Most of us when we hear the word Spiritual Family the first thing come to our mind is “Ghost” or any relative that is already dead because of the word Spirit and Family.
As I continue my walk with Jesus Christ I met different people in church and have fellowship with them. Some shares their passion, some open up their story on how they met Jesus, some of them share their experience in their work place, family issue and relationships. If you have your own family at home you should have a spiritual family in Christ.
Why do you need a Spiritual Family?
1. Someone has the authority to rebuke you because by human nature we are sinful.
Sometimes we as Christians we can do things that is not pleasing to God the Father or does not bring glory to Him. Having a Spiritual Family is like someone is accountable of what is happening to you and can overview your growth as a Christian.
Matthew 18:15-17 New International Version (NIV) “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.
2. Learn from the mistakes of others. You are both accountable to each other.
One of my favorite financial speaker is “Chinkee Tan”. Great wisdom by this man and every time I had the opportunity to listen to him I still learn many things and his favorite saying “Experience is the best teacher?” No. “Experience of others is the best teacher”

3. Burning coal!
Often we hear an illustration of a “Burning Coal“. When we fill we are not worthy for God we tend to isolate ourselves like a burning coal remove from other coals tendency is that your fire will die. These are what I like about Spiritual Family; they follow up on you, keep in touch with you, concern about you, and you could feel you are a family. On my perspective God use this people as an catalyst that would ignite your love to God.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV (English Standard Version) Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
